It was such a rewarding experience walking into each classroom and presenting the winner with a $500 gift certificate, as well as a $200 check for the teacher to use in the classroom. The enthusiasm of each student has certainly inspired me to make this contest a Mother's Day tradition. Congratulations to all the students and teachers who participated.

My mom’s the best because she takes care of me in such a loving and kind way. She teaches me lots of new things and she is so funny. She always makes me happy whenever I look at her. She takes me to tons of places and shows me cool things.  I love to read with her and when it’s a cold day, we have hot cocoa, read and talk on the couch. She takes me to fun and interesting movies. She loves me and I love her. For all these reasons, she’s the best mom in the world.

For 11 years my mom has cared for me and loved me. If I ever fell and needed a Band-Aid I could count on her. If my homework is too hard, she will always have suggestions for what I should do. From the littlest, teeny things to the biggest problems, Judy Brennan is always there for me.

But she is more than simply a mother. She will always serve as a role model for me in life. The way my mom cares about the community by giving meals to neighbors and friends in need, helping out at church and school; and has a passion for her job as a kids, adult, and special needs yoga teacher inspires me each day.

I love you, Mom.

My mother is the most spectacular mother. She volunteers at almost everything imaginable, from PTA events at school to cooking a homemade meal at church. Every Saturday morning she wakes up early to go to Costco to pick up breads and things that are still good but can't be sold. She then takes these things to people who need something to eat. What is left she drives to homeless centers. My mom never takes credit for anything she does. My mom rarely treats herself to anything and I think that it's her time to get the credit that she deserves.

Teenage years are often tragic.
Hormones raging, there is no magic.
“You have no clue!”, is sometimes spoken.
“You just don’t get it, my heart’s been broken.”
But there she sits, comforting me.
“It will be okay...someday…you’ll see.”
What does she know?  She’s never been there.
My life’s a mess, but does SHE care?
Does he like me?  Did I pass the test?
I’m so confused…and I’m so stressed!
And there’s my mom, behind the scenes.
With a knowing smile, encouraging my dreams.
So although I don’t say it, I must confess,
I love my mom. “My Mom’s the Best!”

Although this isn’t an “essay”, this was the best way for me to explain how my mom deals with, and supports, having 3 teenage girls in the household.  I believe it is exactly 100 words…but since I didn’t have my mom review it…  Just kidding, I used the word count feature in Word and it’s exactly 100 words
