Heller Couples: Madison & Erik

Choosing an engagement ring is a meaningful milestone, and Madison and Erik’s experience at Heller Jewelers made it even more special. They had the pleasure of working closely with both Marc and Danelle throughout the process. Since Madison works at Heller Jewelers, she had a clear vision of what she loved, while Erik was entirely new to the world of diamonds.

Danelle took the time to guide Erik through every detail — from color and clarity to all the key elements that go into selecting the perfect diamond. Her knowledge, patience, and thoughtful explanations gave Erik the confidence and reassurance he needed. Marc also went above and beyond, handling the ordering process and arranging visits in the city so Erik could view diamonds in person. Together, Marc and Danelle made the experience seamless, supportive, and truly memorable.

Madison and Erik met in January 2021 during their senior year at the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!). They were introduced at a mutual friend’s house before heading out to trivia night at a local bar. As they talked, they discovered something surprising — they had been neighbors for the past year without ever realizing it.

About a month later, they officially started dating and spent nearly every day together leading up to graduation that summer. After graduating, they navigated nine months of long distance before finally moving in together in Pleasanton. After a year there, they decided to take the next step and move to the city. For the past two and a half years, San Francisco has truly become home.

After a little over four and a half years of dating, Erik proposed to Madison at the Palace of Fine Arts — just two blocks from their San Francisco apartment. The moment was intimate, meaningful, and perfectly reflective of their relationship. Being engaged in a place so close to home made the proposal feel especially personal and full-circle.
